Considered to be the oldest cafe in the world, Florians is truly a Venice landmark and treasure especially if you visit at carnival time and see all the beautifully dressed and masked Venice high society sitting at tables and taking a break from posing for the cameras. This place makes you feel as if you have gone back in time to where some of the most famous artists and writers hung out. From the Venetian Casanova, Goldoni, Canova, to Lord Byron, Percy Bysshe Shelley, Thomas Moore, Charles Dickens, Dumas and celebrities such as Clark Gable and Charlie Chaplin.
